The Brotherhood
Lukphinong: The Full Story
At Lukphinong Muay Thai, we believe family isn’t defined by blood, it’s built through loyalty, hard work, and shared purpose. Founded by Astro Rodrigues, a lifelong martial artist and head coach with over 30 years of experience, our gym was created to be more than just a place to train.
It’s a home for anyone willing to show up, work hard, and grow. A home to build your skill, discipline, and character.

Astro began martial arts at the age of seven, training in silat, kung fu, boxing, and eventually dedicating his life to Muay Thai and kickboxing. He’s also an instructor in hand-to-hand combat for the Australian military, bringing elite-level experience into every class. Over the years, he’s coached athletes at all levels, from first-timers to international champions. Astro led the Australian national team from 74th to 10th in the world rankings as the national coach of Australia.

Lukphinong was born from a desire to do things differently. After seeing fighters used and overlooked in other gyms, Astro built a space where people are respected and developed properly. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.
We focus on strong fundamentals, conditioning, and a no-shortcuts approach to Muay Thai. Every class, even for beginners, is challenging. Our motto says it best: Go hard or go home.
What makes Lukphinong unique is our culture. In everything we do are these six core values:
Honor.
Loyalty.
Respect.
Humility.
Humbelness.
Family.

Whether you're looking to fight competitively or simply want to train with purpose, you’ll be welcomed into a tight-knit team where everyone pushes each other to be better, inside and outside the gym.
